Essay on Music
CONTEXT
Music has the power to inspire, alleviate pain, and give voice to various groups in society. The documentary "Ensaio sobre a música" explores this transformative universe of art, produced by La Casa de la Madre in partnership with the Reverb portal, the first platform focused on creating and distributing inspirational content through music, launched by Rock in Rio and Webedia. The project, envisioned by directors Pedro Miguel Oliveira and André Castilho, faced the challenge of a very low budget, requiring innovative solutions and creative resourcefulness to bring the vision to life while still delivering impactful storytelling.
PERFORMANCE
My contribution to this project included researching the characters, who are protagonists of impactful stories related to music. Among them are journalist and lawyer Andrezza Rodrigues, who used music to overcome multiple sclerosis; doctor and musician Vidal Sbrighi, a former member of the band Os Poligonais and a pioneer in promoting music during surgeries; and rapper Rosa Luz, whose music embodies the struggle for a voice in society. Additionally, I was responsible for the feasibility management and production direction of the documentary. The solution involved co-producing with four other production companies (Gataria Filmes, Studio 30, Arca Atelier, and Gabinete) to facilitate production, location scouting, photography, art direction, and post-production, respectively. This collaborative approach allowed us to maximize resources and expertise while delivering a meaningful and well-crafted documentary.
